Mike Green- Artist's Biography.
Mike Green was born in Auckland, 1941 and migrated to Australia in 1945. Mike has had an interesting and prolific life as an artist/painter, living and travelling in various places around the world. In 1974 Mike returned from his travels to paint full-time in Australia where he held his first one person exhibition at the Manyung Gallery, Mount Eliza in Victoria. During 1981-1982 Mike lived and studied at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where he also held his first international one person exhibition at the Clark Gallery, Boston, Massachusetts in the USA, after which he returned to Australia, living and working full-time as a painter.
During the early 1990s Mike became an Artists' Representative for the National Association for Visual Arts and in 1992 was appointed part-time Lecturer in the Art Department at the Peninsula College of TAFE. In 1995 Mike was Artist in Residence at Bundanon, Nowra in New South Wales.
Throughout his long career, Mike has exhibited regularly in group exhibitions and has held many one person exhibitions in Australia and the USA. Mike's work is widely represented in several Australian and American collections, most notably the Commonwealth of Australia (Artbank), Security Pacific Bank in New York, USA, the First National Bank of Boston in the USA and the Westpac Banking Corporation in Melbourne.
